About the project
The Black Lumi brings Bahraini suwaihat and Middle Eastern flavors to a contemporary dining experience in London. We developed its brand foundations and a visual identity that connects the restaurant’s food, atmosphere, and everyday touchpoints.

A taste of Bahrain, in London
The Black Lumi brings Bahraini suwaihat into a contemporary restaurant setting. The identity combines references to the food itself with a warm palette and a distinctive typographic signature.
The brand foundations
Authenticity, quality, and a welcoming atmosphere guide the direction. The purpose, values, and personality connect the restaurant’s Bahraini roots with its London audience.

From the dish to the signature
The serving tray and skewers informed the logo’s structure. A script detail adds contrast to the condensed wordmark, while the construction keeps the system consistent across sizes.

Type, color, and pattern
Bebas Neue gives the identity its condensed character, supported by Manrope for everyday communication. Warm neutrals and a repeating pattern extend the logo into a wider visual language.

A consistent dining experience
From the facade and uniforms to takeaway packaging, the identity creates a recognizable thread through the restaurant’s touchpoints.
